4. Fill out a conflict form here. Form is due by June 23rd 11:59pm. We suggest waiting to fill out the conflict form until closer to the due date (June 23rd) so that you have a more accurate idea of your conflicts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How old must my child be to audition?
A: We will hear auditions for children ages 10 (must be 10 by opening night 10/22/26) through ages 18.
Q: Is there a cost associated with this show and if so, why?
A: Yes. If your child is cast and they accept their role, there is a participation fee of $225. BCT is proud to offer a $200 scholarship to any child who needs financial assistance. There is no proof of need required. If your child is offered a role, you will be able to request a scholarship at the time of role acceptance.
This cost goes directly towards our costs to produce a show. A production like The Sound of Music: Youth Edition costs roughly $25,000. Like many extra curricular activities including dance classes or sports, there is a fee that is associated with involvement. Due to the financial stewardship of the Buckeye Community Theatre Board of Directors, we are able to help offset the cost of participation with scholarships.
Q: May my child bring a musical instrument to accompany themselves on during the audition?
A: They may, although we will be focused solely on their singing and acting ability.
Q: My child would like to participate in crew or help backstage, do they need to audition?
A: No! After auditions are complete, we will post an application for backstage help. This will take place around August and will be posted on our website.
Q: My child is will be sending in a virtual audition, do I need to select an audition time?
A: No, please do not select a time. Email your audition video to producer@bctohio.org ensuring that it includes both a song AND reading of the lines. Also, please make sure to fill out all audition forms.
